RULES FOR INDEPENDENT / REMOTE - DISTANCE LEARNING:
Because of the intensity of some assignments, or student difficulties in having suitable equipment available to complete them, in the past students choosing to follow the materials and assignments independently and on-line have often lagged behind, and not completed the work satisfactorily. It is therefore important to emphasize the following rules for students choosing to participate in such modes :

          a) There is NO DIFFERENCE in the content, quality, and timeliness required of assignments for students participating independently and/or remotely. With some of the computer tools and activities possibly not available off-site, it is the responsibility of the student to insure access and/or awareness comparable to that of all other students.
          b) A score of 80 or less in an assignment will indicate that the student is no longer benefiting, nor justified to continue to work independently for the remaining of the quarter.
